Venue Booking Manager – FREIGHT (Leadville, CO)
Location: Leadville, Colorado (In-Person with Remote Flexibility)
Hours: 30 hours per week
Compensation: $40,000 annual salary (30hrs a week)

We work with weddings, corporate retreats, government agencies, nonprofits, and private events, creating unforgettable moments in a historic and scenic mountain setting.
About the Role
The Venue Booking Manager is a key part of our team, responsible for selling the venue to potential clients and leading the marketing strategy to promote FREIGHT as a premier event destination. This role requires a blend of sales expertise, marketing skills, and financial responsibility, ensuring that FREIGHT continues to thrive as a sought-after event venue.
This is an in-person position with some flexibility for up to 10 hours per week of remote work, primarily responding to client inquiries during evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Sales & Bookings
- Actively market and sell the venue to potential clients, including weddings, corporate retreats, government agencies, nonprofits, and private events.
- Provide venue tours, primarily during evenings and weekends, to accommodate client schedules.
- Maintain strong relationships with local and statewide wedding planners, event planners, and industry leaders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for SalesMsg inquiries, responding promptly to potential clients.
- Manage all contracting and invoicing for event sales.
- Manage the venue’s email, phone, and text messaging system, ensuring all inquiries are handled professionally and efficiently.
✅ Marketing & Promotions
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote FREIGHT as a premier event venue in the Colorado mountains.
- Oversee social media marketing and maintain an active presence in the wedding and event industry.
- Maintain relationships with wedding industry publications, magazines, and online platforms.
- Represent FREIGHT at local and regional industry events.
- Maintain all marketing documents, both electronic and printed materials, ensuring they are up to date.
✅ Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the venue sales budget, working closely with the CEO and financial administrator.
- Track venue revenue and marketing expenses to ensure financial health and sustainability.
- Support annual budget planning and forecasting for the event venue.
- Shares manager on-call responsibilities with the rest of the leadership team (6-8 days per month). Must be within one hour of the venue and respond to phone calls within 15 minutes.

Work Environment & Schedule
- This position reports directly to the CEO and works alongside three other managers overseeing FREIGHT’s operations.
- FREIGHT is a fully staffed venue with event staff, bartenders, and event supervisors.
- This position has no direct staff management responsibilities but collaborates with various teams to ensure successful events.
- While regular office hours are expected, evening and weekend availability is required for tours and client communication.
- Some remote work (up to 10 hours per week) is available for responding to client inquiries.
