The Whiskey Lime Lounge
The Whiskey Lime Lounge is our set-piece, eye spy, whiskey sipping shed full of antiques from Leadville & the entire FREIGHT site. Available to guests of the hotel & depot, this fun nook in the courtyard can be used for hiding before walking down the aisle, couples photos, getting ready or just hanging out.
"Getting Ready" Room
Our sunny, getting ready room off the main depot space is set up for wedding prep. With mirrors, plants & cushy velvet furniture, this room offers an oasis for intimate moments before a wedding.

The Freight Depot
FREIGHT’s depot houses the main hall, getting ready room, & bar. With 2,000’ of deck space, you can look out over the courtyard & Continental Divide. Our state of the art sound system allows you to listen to your favorite tunes both inside & outside. Off-Site Ceremonies
Twin Lakes
This is 15 minute drive from FREIGHT and a managed by the Forest Service. You must obtain a permit for groups larger than 75 guests. Parking fees apply ($7/car). Please note that you can not reserve an exact spot for your wedding in the Rockies, since this land is public. But, we can do our best to do so.
The Meadow
Just a 10 minute drive from Freight, this private property has an unobstructed view of the Sawatch Range. There is ample parking & easy access to the sagebrush meadow. = $600 (2026 price)
Turquoise Lake
A 15 minute drive from FREIGHT, we have Turquoise Lake. Just like Twin Lakes, this is managed by the Forest Service. You must obtain a permit for groups larger than 75 guests. How many guests can FREIGHT accommodate for a wedding?
FREIGHT accommodates up to 220 seated guests, making it ideal for both intimate elopements and larger celebrations. Price breaks are available for groups under 50 people, off-season dates, and non-Saturday events. Whether you’re planning an intimate elopement or a full celebration for 220 guests, FREIGHT offers the flexibility to make it entirely your own.
Is a wedding planner included?
Yes, FREIGHT requires a day-of coordinator for all weddings, whether that’s someone you hire professionally or a trusted family friend. FREIGHT will provide the specific requirements for the role to whoever you choose.
Can we hold our ceremony on-site at FREIGHT?
Absolutely. FREIGHT has multiple on-site ceremony options at no extra fee, including the Whiskey Lime Lounge courtyard, the Red Shed bandstand, and the main hall. We also partner with nearby off-site locations including Twin Lakes and Turquoise Lake, both a 15-minute drive away, for couples who want a lakeside ceremony followed by a reception at the depot.
Do guests have to stay on-site, and how late can the event run?
On-site cabin lodging is available for your wedding guests, when all cabins are booked by your party, your event can run until 2am. Without full cabin booking, events wrap by 10pm. On-site lodging also means no one has to drive home at the end of the night. Extra hours are $500 per hour. Our last call has to be 30 minutes before the end of your event.
Can we bring outside vendors and caterers?
Yes, FREIGHT does not require you to use specific vendors or caterers, and there are no catering minimums. The only exception is alcohol, which must be provided through FREIGHT’s in-house bar service and liquor license. We work most often with Silver Dollar Saloon for catering, but the choice is yours.
