by Freight Leadville Co.

Who wouldn’t want to get married in the stunning Rocky Mountains?

More specifically, who wouldn’t want to get married in the Rocky Mountains in the great state of Colorado?

Sanctify your union amid soaring snow-capped peaks and other natural features that make you feel just how huge this world is and how many possibilities it holds out to you.

Sounds great, huh?

Well, that’s good because we’ve gone out of our way here to compile a list of some of the top Rocky Mountain wedding locations just for you!

On this list, we hope you’ll find the spot where you’ll choose to begin the rest of your life together. 🙂

Rocky Mountain wedding locations

1. Freight Leadville (Leadville)

Yes, it’s us.

Of course, we’re first on the list.

Why would it be otherwise?

But it’s not just because we’re the ones writing the list; it’s also because we really do think we have one of the best Rocky Mountain wedding locations available – and in one of the most gorgeous locations.

I mean, just Google search some images of Leadville and you’ll quickly discover why we feel that way.

If you want big open skies, towering mountains, crystal clear lakes, and the feeling that the whole world is opening up to you, then this is where you want to be.

2. Granby Ranch (Granby)

Another strong contender is Granby Ranch, located in Granby (that’s easy).

It won’t surprise you to learn that this is a ski resort.

It also won’t surprise you to learn that ski resorts are often fantastic places to get married because, in addition to being in beautiful destinations, they are also well-equipped and experienced in handling things like weddings.

You also get access to all the cool ski resort stuff like the chairlifts and the slopes (if you have your wedding in winter).

3. Della Terra Mountain Chateau (Estes Park)

The fact that this place has the word “chateau” in its name should give you some indication as to what kind of venue it is.

Dela Terra Chateau is the sort of venue you choose if you don’t want to just be in the mountains; you want to be in the mountains in luxury.

From the architecture to the amenities, you’ll see why this isn’t the cheapest option, but it’s not a rip-off either.

Like so many other things in life, you get what you pay for.

And if it’s within budget for you, Della Terra Chateau is an option worth considering.

4. The Sebastian (Vail)

Ok, I know I said that last place was luxury, but The Sebastian might be even more so.

And the fact that it’s located in Vail is part of that.

Everything in Vail is luxury.

And The Sebastian is one of the most luxurious places in Vail.

So consider that as you will.

Honestly, one of the best things about this venue (aside from the amenities) is actually the fact that it’s in Vail because, in that town, you can find just about everything that a Rocky Mountain enthusiast could want.

You’ve got great restaurants, bike paths, and every form of outdoor activity imaginable within easy reach (except for maybe surfing).

It’s tops among Rocky Mountain wedding locations for outdoorsy types and for couples who want to get into the great outdoors while they’re in town.

5. Rhize Weddings (Colorado Springs)

Situated on 43 acres, Rhize Weddings is a sanctuary in the forest that is dedicated specifically to weddings.

And they’re very good at what they do.

On-site, they have a number of different reception areas and spots for photo ops.

And they’ve also got on-site lodging for you and your guests.

That’s particularly great because you’ll probably want to spend the night there.

From what we understand, they can accommodate up to 12 people overnight.

Rhize probably isn’t well-suited to large weddings, but it’s ideal for smaller weddings or elopements.

8. Lionscrest Manor (Lyons)

With 50 acres all to itself, Lionscrest Manor is one of the better Rocky Mountain wedding locations north of Denver.

More specifically, located between Boulder and Fort Collins, Lionscrest offers a more rugged and almost Wild West aesthetic compared to the almost European chalet-style aesthetic more commonly found in ski resort towns.

That’s not to say that it isn’t extravagant; it certainly is.

But it is extravagant in a different sort of way.

Lionscrest is where you go if you want the same comfort and amenities you’d find in Aspen but with the sort of cowboy-esque natural landscape you might expect to see in a movie about the Old West.

It’s a bit hard to explain, but visit their website and browse their photos.

You’ll see what we’re talking about.

While they’re not quite as all-in on the pioneer look and vibe as we are, we respect how they lean into the landscape and really do their best to make the views the main attraction.

Far from obstructing or concealing the scenery, they have designed their whole layout in such a way as to intentionally create phenomenal angles for photos backed by natural landscape features.
